Information about us

Slovak PhD Students' Association is an organization that unites Ph.D. students and young scientists

(up to the age of 35) in Slovakia.

Our goal is to improve the quality of the young Slovak scientific research. In order to meet this aim we have tried to identify the main problems of doctoral students and young scientists, to find optimal solutions and finally to put them into practice. We cooperate with the Slovak Ministry of Education, Slovak Academy of Science and universities and we want (at least gradually) to make the performance of our science better. Of course, the issues like scholarship- and wage-increase, accessible accommodation, transparent process of accepting new scientific and pedagogical employees at Slovak universities, constitute a firm part of this effort.

We aim to gather necessary information about the success of young Slovak scientists and about the problems that Slovak doctoral students struggle with, in order to make information available for everybody. Therefore we work out statistical data about activities and results of young scientists and doctoral students especially for the needs of the Slovak Ministry of Education, Slovak Academy of Science, universities and for the whole public.

To make our work more effective we need wide public support. If YOU are one of us, please find one minute of time to fill in an inquiry that you find at our website. By doing this you will help us to get relevant information and thus to become more powerful at the negotiations where we fight for better study and research conditions for You and Your colleges.
